Iman Shervington is a Los Angeles-based dancer who began dancing ballet in childhood, yet for the past 15 years she has intensively studied a variety of dance styles that mostly represent the expression of the Black diaspora. She has learned from top dancers, choreographers, culture bearers and practitioners from around the world through countless classes, trainings and intensives, and she has danced and instructed with multiple dance companies in New Orleans, Boston and Los Angeles.

Currently Iman is a member of three companies. She belongs to the "Poderosas do Samba" (Powerful Women of Samba), an international group headquartered in Rio De Janeiro that was formed and led by renowned sambistas Alex Coutinho and Alessandra Jansen that unites over 100 dancers from around the world through the love of samba. She is also a member of the Team 3XT Dance Company based out of Los Angeles and San Diego that was started by elite dancers and choreographers, Alexandria Kaye and Ferly Prado. Lastly, she is a Senior Cardio Dance instructor with TRILLFIT, a purpose-driven wellness business based out of Boston, MA, where she has been instructing both virtually and in person for over three years. Of her many dance achievements, Iman most appreciates opening for Sergio Mendes; performing at New Orleans’ Mardi Gras balls, Jazz & Heritage, and Essence Festivals; dancing samba at Mrs. Tina Knowles’ 60th birthday party; and performing as a Muse and passista in the 2022 Carnaval in Rio De Janeiro and at the 2022 Notting Hill Carnival in London, England.
